On January 11th, 1994 Scott Roetzer and Barry Small formed Ledge Creek Development, Inc. The company has grown and diversified since that day in 1994. Starting as a 2-man operation with a vision of growth, the two owners have worked endlessly to expand the reach of the company into what it is today. Large Conduit Rock Bore

Under the New York State Thruway

Ledge Creek Development was contracted to perform a directional drill under the New York State Thruway. The shot was approximately 1,000 linear feet long through solid rock. The goal was to install a 26” diameter, thick-walled electrical conduit through the limestone at a depth of 35’. With the challenges this project presented, Ledge Creek had to do massive planning and strategizing. The boring started with small diameter shots and incrementally got larger until a 32” hole had been drilled through the hard rock. The crew butt fuzed 1000’ of the conduit which was eventually pulled back through the large hole and then grouted. This was one of the most difficult horizontal drill jobs recently attempted in Western New York. The crew did a great job under difficult circumstances working with multiple agencies from New York State and the Thruway Authority. After the conduit was successfully installed and inspected, our restoration crews restored the disturbed areas back to their original state. This job was a great success.
